CSR and its Importance in the Society
Corporate social responsibility, often abbreviated “CSR,” is a corporation’s initiatives to assess and take responsibility for the company’s effects on environmental and social wellbeing. The term generally applies to efforts that go beyond what may be required by regulators or environmental protection groups.
CSR may also be referred to as “corporate citizenship” and can involve incurring short-term costs that do not provide an immediate financial benefit to the company, but instead promote positive social and environmental change.
TERii’s Involvement in CSR
TERii has been continuously taking initiatives for the development of the society. There are regular measures taken care by the administration, faculty as well as the students to help the society in all the manners they can. Some of the initiatives taken by TERii under CSR are:
TERii Charitable Dispensary
Giving medical aid to the poor and needy is a big task of humanity. TERii has inculcated a charitable dispensary named as TERii Charitable Dispensary which is available for the local residents of Kurukshetra every day for 3 hours. The dispensary is equipped with all the first aid medicines as well as primary investigation tools as per our local resident doctor requirement.
With this, TERii daily facilitates more than 50 patients and their treatments every day.
Blood Donor Book for Kurukshetra
TERii in collaboration with Rotary Club and Sanatan Vidyapeeth Trust decided to publish a book for the common people of Kurukshetra named as Blood Donors of Kurukshetra. The book includes 10,000+ contact details of the people who have consented to donate their blood at the time of requirement. The biggest advantage of this book is that the names of the willing blood donors are segregated with their blood group so that any person who requires blood can contact the person with the matching blood group.
This book is available across all the local places of Kurukshetra including post offices, hospitals, police stations, bus stand and railway station for the convenience of the common man who can anytime surf through this book and contact with the blood donors.
Food Donation Camp/Free Food Stall
Feeding the poor is an act of humanity which should be practiced by everyone. TERii with its students and faculty organizes free food stalls every month for the local poor and needy people. This food stall caters to 500+ people at a time offering them food and other materials of kind which can help them to survive.
Free Education to Needy People
At TERii, every academic session incorporates 10 students who fall under the Below Poverty Line as regular students for various courses. These students are given proper education, food, clothing and study material at no cost. From the last one decade, these students have been with the institute and are thankful for amending their lives with proper education.
These are some of the initiatives which TERii is taking as a part for CSR for the development of the society. Apart from this, there are tremendous of other initiatives and activities which are taken place at the institutions.
