TERii Talks, a series of student-centric events designed to evangelize new age technology and ignite the passion to “create” innovative technology related products hosted the workshop on SmarTech in adherence to its mission to WALK THE TALK.

The workshop SmarTech: Build 21st Century Skills, including Communication, Creativity and Collaboration was conducted by Mr Akhil Menon, M. Tech BITS, Pilani. Mr Menon did an exceptional job in explaining the basic SmarTech concepts and providing accurate guidance to students on how to build DIY SmarTech prototypes. More than 100 students from schools across India participated in the workshop and learnt how to build their own SmarTech prototypes using Arduino, Raspberry Pi, and NodeMCU.

“If it is SMART, it should be Specific, Measurable, Attainable, Relevant, and Time Based”, said Mr Menon while explaining what Smart Technology is.

The SmarTech workshop encouraged students to construct their very first self-made SmarTech prototype and showcase them by putting up pictures and videos of the same on social media with #TERiiTalks #My1stSmarTech as tags. Students with buzzy posts will win exciting prizes. The intention of the workshop is to go beyond a traditional webinar and truly help the students to WALK THE TALK.

Mr Menon quoted “We are going towards Smart City, not only the few elements of our home or few elements of our lives will be automated but the whole city will be automated – right from industry, security, retail, society, healthcare, home, energy, and mobility”, while explaining what our future would look like.
