5-Day Boot Camp in the Best Civil Engineering College of Haryana – TERii
To refine the overall skills – technical as well as interpersonal of Civil engineering students of the Best Civil Engineering College of Haryana – TERii, organized a 5-day workshop in collaboration with , PROTRAINY to train the students to design, build, supervise, operate, construct and maintain infrastructure projects and systems in the public and private sectors. Speaker explained the various functional areas of a Civil Engineer, like Design Engineering, Site Engineering, Academics and R&D, Project Planning and Project Management, Surveying, quality, safety, material management, etc on the very first day of the workshop.
Online Hands-on Session
The second day of the workshop was dedicated to exposing students on software used in Civil Engineering. A deep discussion on the structural software likes STAAD, TEKLA, ETABS, SAFE and architectural software like AUTOCAD, 3DS MAX, ARCHI CAD, CANVAS, etc was the objective. The session was not limited to discussions only, a hands-on session made the students not only inspired but curious to know more about their field and accept learning as a challenge; to approach perfection in these software and other skills for New age career opportunities, by utilizing the vulnerable situation of these pandemic days when it is not feasible to go to any site to learn practically.
Discussion on Managing the Projects
The third day was a practical lesson on Project Management. It was like constructing a pathway of transforming The Best Civil Engineering College students into the Best Civil Engineers, who can manage the projects adhering to timelines, who know how and when to appeal and utilize the application of knowledge, skills, tools, and techniques to project activities to meet the required aim.
Getting Job-Ready by practicing Virtual Interviews
The fourth and Fifth day focused upon interactive sessions on interview patterns for Civil Engineers, resume writing, and mock Group discussions on frequent and familiar interview questions. The company officials also narrated the details about internship opportunities for Civil Engineers and guided them on how to work as a freelancer in the future. The expert Mr. Ayush Sharma addressed the students on the fifth day shared his experiences, and wish the students good luck in their careers. Er. Karan Vadhera, Officer Incharge Civil Engineering department for TERii Kurukshetra, coordinated the virtual event.
