Webinar on the theme “Relevance of Technical Education in Indian Context” was jointly organized by Education Culture Upliftment Trust (SSN), Haryana and TERii, Kurukshetra. Eminent speakers who participated in the same were Dr. Kailash Chandra Sharma, Former Vice Chancellor, Kurukshetra University, Kurukshetra; Dr. Sanjeev Sharma, Registrar, Kurukshetra University, Kurukshetra, Dr. Vivek Kohli, Principal Sohan Lal DAV Education College, Ambala, Dr. Anita Sharma, Principal, Delhi World Public School Bhiwani and Dr. Sagar Gulati, Director TERii.

All the speakers emphasized in one voice that power of technology and technical education has to be the path-shower for Indian growth. Speaking on the occasion, Dr. Kailash Chandra Sharma said that after the corona global epidemic, a global standard is now being established in which India will play an important role. He said that Indian culture emphasizes human values which are essential for cumulative growth of any society. During the Corona epidemic, the developed nations, where they were insisting on economic values, we were able to better deal with this challenge by keeping in mind the human interests.

Dr. Vivek Kohli said that thanks to excellent technical education, Indian youth are hoisting their flag globally. Dr. Sagar Gulati said that we have to develop courses keeping the future in mind so that our youth can easily get employment. Youth has to adapt Artificial Intelligence enabled technologies on a fast track mode to have a prosperous and more powerful India, added Dr. Gulati.

Prof. P.C. Tiwari, Head Mechanical Engineering Department at N.I.T. Kurukshetra informed that engineering, polytechnics and ITI form the basics of Technical Education System; and active association of youth with TE, will yield a better tomorrow for this Nation.

The webinar discussed a number of other important issues, including the usefulness of technical education in the Indian context, in addressing current and future challenges, which have a direct or indirect impact on human life. Dr. P.C. Tiwari praised the organizers and said that the self-reliant India campaign, which is being run by the joint efforts of the Government and voluntary institutions, will improve skill development and quality as well as GDP of India.

Finally, program co-ordinator TERii Polytechnic Principal Prof. Sudhir Kumar thanked all invited speaker and audiences. The programme was concluded with the national song Vandemataram.
