An inhouse award ceremony took place yesterday at TERII campus. It was the first time a programme of this sort is being organised to uplift the spirits of students and Honor those who outperfomed in education as well as sports. The event evoked the unprecedented enthusiasm among students.
Guest of honor, Dr. M P Gupta, Advisor TERII, addressed students before distributing awards. He talked about his academic and life experiences. He also appreciated the hard work and thought put in by organizers of this event. He lauded the achievement of TERI Institute on completing 10 successful years. He urged students to keep giving their best in each and every endeavor. He said,’ A student builds an institution not its infrastructure or any other thing’ while sharing the experience of his visit to world renowned MIT and Harvard University. He talked about habits students need to inculcate in order to become an achiever. He highlighted the importance of attending classes regularly. He also informed students about UN declaration of year 2017 as Youth Year, which not only shows how important youth contribution is in terms of nation building but also in global context also. He concluded with congratulating students who won awards and with a hope that more students will outshine next year.
Dr. Sagar Gulati, Director TERII, begin with a beautiful/ inspiring thought with a message that hardwork pays and if you want to be successful hardwork is the key. He said, those who have won accolades are in no way different, just that they worked more sincerely. He spoke about how technology was evolving at a very fast pace these days. As a student one must have all around approach which TERII is determined to provide each and every student.
175+ students received awards from Dr. M P Gupta. Highlights among them is Saroj Kumar Kapar from dept. of Mechanical Engineering who scored 100% marks in Engineering Drawing. A student name Amarnath won an bravery award for saving life of a fellow student who was about to drown in river.
Students from TPS also received numerous awards for their outstanding performance in various national, state and district level sports competitions. Among them is a student name Gurvinder singh who is not only TPS treasure but a national treasure too. He was rewarded in the presence of his proud parents and teachers for winning bronze in national and state kick boxing competition.
