TERii Kurukshetra organized ‘Diwali Mela’ with great enthusiasm and zeal. Diwali is a festival of lights and symbolizes the spiritual victory of light over darkness, good over evil and knowledge over ignorance. Diwali is the day Lord Rama, his wife Sita Devi and brother Lakshmana return to their homeland after 14 years in exile. The villagers lit a path for Rama, who had defeated the demon king Ravana. The people of Ayodhya lined the streets and their homes with oil wicks in clay lamps to welcomed them.

The program started with Ganesh Vandana performed by Manushi at 10:00 a.m in the morning. Campus was fully decorated with flowers, lights and artwork from eco-friendly products. Various programs were presented one after the other by the students, such as a couple of student performed a comedy drama to entertain the audience. After that, a student from Civil Department sang a melodious song with the help of piano. Followed this, a class MBA student gave a brilliant dance performance on Haryanvi song and depicts Haryanvi culture. Ramp walk was also performed by the students of 1st year and those who scored high according to their challenges rendered to them won the title of Mr. Fresher and Ms. Fresher. Lastly, the program ended with the distribution of prizes to motivate students in various categories such as department helping hands, awards given to Infrastructure team, Cultural team, Discipline team, Decoration team and lastly the winners were announced which are as follows:

  1. Mr. Fresher: Batch no.44 Bhaskar-(Btech CSE 1st year).
  2. Ms. Fresher: Batch no.24 Monika-(Btech CSE 1st year).
  3. Mr. Evening: Rohan (Civil-Final year).
  4. Ms. Evening: Priya (CSE Final year).
  5. Solo Performance: Asha (MBA 1ST year) & Anuzo (Civil 3rd year).
  6. Group performance: Azmat and Mudassir (BBA 1st year).
  7. Anchor of the day: Kanwaljeet (CSE Final year).
  8. Stall of the day: Sweet corn and Ice-cream stall (Amandeep, Navneet, Simranjeet, Navjeet (BBA Final year)).
  9. Department helping hands: CSE: Aditi (2nd year) & Sudhanshu (Final year), Civil: Senti (Final year) & Anuzo (3rd year), Mechanical: Mouniodeen (3rd year), Management: Palak (BBA 2nd year) & Amandeep (BBA 3rd year).

The function was graced by honourable secretary of the institute, Er.Aditya Gupta, Director Er.Hardeep Singh, Registrar Mr. Jasbir Malik, Principal Er.Sudhir Tamak, and all the HOD’S of the departments and they presented the gifts as the token of honour to all the students who have performed in the event to motivate them.
